Saint Thecla’s Family School Association (FSA) is an organization made up of parents and guardians of St. Thecla students, as well as Mr. Gargano and Father Gene. The Family School Association was formed to support the work of the school by sponsoring a variety of activities that contribute to our students’ physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual growth. The objectives of this organization are to advance Catholic education, promote the welfare of all St. Thecla children, facilitate parental involvement in the school, benefit the school financially and socially, and to foster a closer relationship between home and school life.

Many different activities and events are sponsored by the FSA throughout the school year, such as Market Day, Box Tops for Education, Grandparent’s Day, New Parent Orientation, Teacher Appreciation Week, and Breakfast with Santa, School Picnic, Child Enrichment Programs and more. FSA meetings are held once a month on Tuesday evenings at 7pm and are open to the public (see school calendar for dates or contact Linda Parker at 773-631-9895).

All parents of children enrolled at St. Thecla School are members of the Family School Association. Parents are encouraged to become involved by attending meetings, joining or leading a committee, participating in our fundraising and outreach efforts, and volunteering at events and programs. There are so many ways to get involved. By working together, we help continue to make the St.Thecla School community strong and vibrant.

Welcome! We would like to share some news about our important fundraiser, Market Day!

For those of you who do not know what Market Day is, it is a monthly Grocery Program we offer.  You can order nutritious foods that are easy to make such as quick breakfast items, lunch box items, after school snacks, delicious desserts, butcher quality meats, and vegetables. But most importantly, it is a fundraiser.  Fundraising provides the ability for us to purchase materials for the classrooms and meet teacher and student needs.  Customers appreciate every day prices that are competitive with retail, yet offer the added benefit of helping our school.

Our school earns profit throughout the year with Market Day’s selection of over 150 high quality, nutritious foods designed to meet the needs of today’s busy, value-minded consumers.  Time is most valuable with today’s working families.  You can order your groceries online at www.marketday.com in the convenience of your home. They are boxed and ready for you when you pick up.  No waiting in long lines to check out.

School pick-up days are Thursdays from 2:30pm – 3:15pm in the multi-purpose room

eScrip Recycling Program

This program is FREE and provides convenient locations for collecting laser, inkjet cartridges, used cell phones, iPods and laptops while raising funds for our school.

How the program works:

A Collection bin is coming soon and will be accessible during normal school hours; it will be placed out side the school office.

You can deposit your recyclable cell phones, cartridges, iPods and laptops whenever it’s convenient for you. Periodically, FSA will mail the items collected to the eScrip Recycling offices. eScrip Recycling will then deposit funds electronically in our groups account!!!

Please refer to the list of accepted items prior to dropping any items off. As you can imagine this is a labor intense task for and we need your help. Help us turn waste into CASH! Please donate your cell phones, cartridges, iPods and laptops by placing them in the collection bin.

Not only is this an easy way to raise funds, it also teaches our students valuable lessons about the variety of materials that can be recycled and it helps them develop life long patterns.

Thank you for your help in recycling
