Faculty: St. Thecla is blessed with dedicated faculty who are committed to Catholic education. Many of our staff hold advanced degrees and are all Illinois State Certified. Our staff continues to grow professionally through professional development and continuing education courses. In addition to classroom teachers, St. Thecla also has primary and secondary aides as well as two resource teachers.

Student Life: Students participate in a variety of sports, clubs, and affinity groups. Several theatrical performances are also staged throughout the year, and our students regularly plan and participate in liturgical services. Our middle school students also complete in academic bowls and competitions hosted at local high schools.

Curriculum: St. Thecla’s curriculum is built around the Chicago Archdiocesan Standards. In addition to Religion being taught five days a week, students also attend weekly Mass as a student body. Kindergarten through eighth grade receive Spanish classes as well as incorporate iPads into everyday curriculum. St. Thecla is also equipped with SmartBoard Technology to enhance student learning through interactive white boards.

Extracurricular Activities: St. Thelca offers a wide array of extracurricular activities. Bitty Ball is offered for students in grades one, two and three. Competitive sports begin in fourth grade. Our athletic program offers cross country, track, football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, baseball and softball. St. Thecla also offers Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, band, chess, Young Rembrandt’s Art Program, and choir.

High School Placement: St. Thecla students attend the high school of their choice! Students proudly represent St. Thecla Falcons at Notre Dame, Trinity, Resurrection College Prep, Regina Dominican, Guerin Prep, St. Patrick College Prep, St. Ignatius College Prep, and Loyola Academy.

Before and Aftercare: Before Care opens at 6:45AM and Aftercare closes at 6:00PM
